Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Commerce with Sunil mobile application and website collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — your name and mobile number, which are required to create an account. Your mobile number is verified with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS.
• Optional profile details — an email address and a profile photo, if you choose to add them.
• Password — stored only as a salted one-way hash. We never store or have access to your password in readable form.
• Content you post — doubts, replies, comments on lessons and community posts. These are visible to other learners and to our staff.
• Messages to the AI study assistant — the questions you type are processed to generate an answer and retained so we can enforce fair-use limits.

Information generated by your use of the app

• Learning activity — courses you enrol in, lessons you open, quiz attempts and scores. This is what powers your progress and results.
• Purchase records — the courses you bought, amount paid, coupon used, and the payment reference returned by our payment gateway.
• Technical logs — IP address and timestamps, recorded when OTPs are requested so we can block abuse and rate-limit requests.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, calendar, precise location, SMS messages, call logs, or the list of other apps installed on your device. The app requests camera and photo library access only at the moment you choose to set a profile picture, and storage access only when you save a downloadable note.

2. We never see your card details

Payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Your card number, CVV, UPI PIN and net-banking credentials are entered directly into Razorpay's secure checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only the payment status, the amount, and a transaction reference.

3. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
• To give you access to the courses, notes, live classes and tests you have enrolled in.
• To process payments and issue access to purchased content.
• To show your progress, quiz results and enrolment history.
• To answer your doubts and respond to support requests.
• To send service messages such as OTPs, payment confirmations and class notices.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised sharing of paid content.
• To understand which content is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the app:

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of our learners.

5. How we protect your information

• All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes, never in plain text.
• Sessions use signed tokens that expire, and OTPs are single-use and short-lived.
• Access to production data is limited to authorised administrators.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

6. How long we keep it

• Account and learning data — kept while your account is active, and deleted when you ask us to delete your account.
• Purchase and transaction records — retained for up to eight years after the transaction, because Indian tax and accounting law requires it. This is the one category we cannot delete on request.
• OTP records — deleted automatically shortly after the code expires.

7. Your rights and choices

You can, at any time:

• View and update your name, email and profile photo from the Profile screen in the app.
• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete your account and personal data — see our data deletion request page for how, and what happens next.
• Withdraw consent by deleting your account and uninstalling the app.

8. Children's privacy

The app is intended for students preparing for commerce examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us at sachinstudycentre6@gmail.com and we will delete it. Learners under 18 should use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for any purchase made.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The revision date at the top of this page always shows when it was last changed, and material changes will be announced inside the app. Continuing to use Commerce with Sunil after a change means you accept the updated policy.
